Brainfood: Moore’s Law Explained

This week’s Brain Food is on Moore’s Law. This ‘law’ developed from the thinking of Gordon Moore, one of Intel’s founders, underpins much of the thinking and predictions about when our technology will become intelligent than us. The graphic below from Time gives an illustration of how it has worked:

Three sizes of info to suit your time, a new ‘nibble’ size only 2 mins, give you a very overboard of what the law is. Our usual ‘snack size’ by Joel Garreau gives you an overview as well as explanation of its implications for the future. The ‘deep dive’ clip is 30 mins and is by Intel themselves. It includes Gordon Moore himself as well as some of the early chip pioneers at Intel. It’s a good account of how law developed as well as how the technology developed from the mouths of some of the men behind these innovations.
